According to Wikipediae Smart environments link computers and other smart devices to everyday settings and tasks. Smart environments include smart homes, smart cities, and smart manufacturing.
A smart environment is defined as a setting that enables users to interact seamlessly with their surroundings through the integration of intelligent technologies and software-based services, utilizing sensor technologies and data processing to enhance user experience and facilitate independent living.
Cook and Das, define a smart environment as "a small world where different kinds of smart devices are continuously working to make inhabitants' lives more comfortable."
The smart environment includes improvements of waste discarding, pollution control, energy management, smart grids, and house and facility management, quality of air and water, increases in green spaces, and monitoring emissions (Appio et al., 2019; Ismagilova et al., 2019).
Smart environment is not just about technology, it’s an environment that is sustainable rated and tech supported or enhanced, so as to save time, resources etc. and still achieve an optimum result while contributing to climate change positively. The tech gadgets, devices etc. help activities been carried out in such an environment. Tech here serves as an aid to goal attainment. Its overall need is to improve living, working and different activities of man in a sustainable manner while preserving the earth planet.

Smart environment is a sustainable and tech enhanced approach to improve and make better the activities of human being within an environment without undermining their potentials if well utilized and managed.
